STATE OF EVIDENCE: THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH 2011-2015
An independent meta-analysis for the Government of Alberta, published in 2011, compared 49 programs from around the world. The programs included a wide array of strategies for community wellness, safety from crime, and livability. Out of 49 studies, evaluators considered SafeGrowth one of only 6 “very promising” strategies for the future. See especially pages 29, 31, and 57. |

This neighborhood safety plan prepared for HACE (Hispanic Association of Contractors and Enterprises) includes multiple recommendations based in SafeGrowth. Appendix A-2 includes the Crime & Safety Report that served as a basis for these recommendations.

The City of Saskatoon in Saskatchewan, Canada, has developed the most comprehensive SafeGrowth & CPTED Guidelines for the city with a number of autonomous Local Area Plans connected under the City-wide governance.
