HARRY L. TAPIACOMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALISTJoining HACE as a file clerk in 2002, Harry is now the Controller and leads HACE’s community safety projects. Since arriving in Philadelphia in 1991, Harry has been involved in community safety and community rebuilding. As a youth, Harry worked with the Norris Square Neighborhood Project and CUNAD (Community United Neighbors Against Drugs) on neighborhood safety, conflict resolution, leadership building, and repurposing abandon lots into community gardens. Through CUNAD, Harry was part of a national weed and seed panel designed to train national youth leaders on community safety and redevelopment. Harry also participated in the local Police Athletic League center, ROTC, and the Taller Puertorriqueño.
Harry received his Associate’s degree from Community College of Philadelphia and his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from La Salle University. His life goals are to empower low income individuals through economic development and education. Harry is based in Philadelphia. |
